The Walk Highlands website contains tens of walks in the Outer Hebrides. An introduction to this archive of walks is provided on a page of our website.
The Scottish Rights of Way and Access Society maintains a list of Heritage Paths across Scotland. The Outer Hebrides section on Heritage Paths contains paths that pass beside the hostels at Howmore and Rhenigidale. The path by Howmore is called The Machair Path and is 35 km long extending almost the length of South Uist from the South Ford to Kilpheder. The Heritage Path to Rhenigidale is the Postmans Path from Urgha.
